A hand-carved Thousand-Hand Guanyin on a 5.25 cm disc of green jadeite. Kwan Yin, the bodhisattva of compassion, sits on a lotus with her hands joined at her chest, while tiers of open hands fan out behind her to reach everyone who asks for help. The disc is 6.5 mm thick, so the relief is deep enough for each hand to catch the light on its own.
