Jade Bracelet Size Guide
This is the single most important decision when buying a jade bangle, because solid bangles cannot be resized. Get the size wrong, and the piece either won't fit over your hand or will slide off your wrist.
The key rule: measure your hand width, not your wrist. The bangle has to pass over the widest part of your hand to reach your wrist.
How to measure correctly:
- Hold your dominant hand flat with fingers straight and pressed together.
- Tuck your thumb across your palm so the tip touches the base of your pinky finger — this mimics the position your hand takes when sliding a bangle on.
- Use a soft tape measure to wrap around the widest part of your hand (usually across the knuckles below the thumb base).
- Record the measurement in centimeters or inches.
Sizing reference:
| Hand Circumference | Bangle Inner Diameter | Fit |
|---|---|---|
| 15–16 cm (5.9"–6.3") | 52–54 mm | Petite |
| 16–17 cm (6.3"–6.7") | 54–56 mm | Small |
| 17–18 cm (6.7"–7.1") | 56–58 mm | Medium |
| 18–19 cm (7.1"–7.5") | 58–60 mm | Large |
| 19–20 cm (7.5"–7.9") | 60–62 mm | XL |
Note: A traditional Chinese fit is slightly snug, so the bangle stays in place during daily activity. A "modern" or Western fit allows about 2–3 mm of extra room. Beaded jade bracelets are easier — measure your wrist circumference and add 1–2 cm for comfort.
